Coronation Charity lunch – Friday 5th May 2023

Our Coronation Special Charity Lunch followed a great recital by Alan Dorn. Our ladies had planned something special both in the food line and the table decorations. What they’d not planned for was a visit by a lady from Hertsmere Council checking out our Kitchen and our food hygiene. So the few days warning they had was time enough for a few bouts of nerves but they need not have worried. They passed with flying colours.

We had the usual buffet lunch spread, but also a wide range of cakes and prosecco for the loyal toast which was given by David Aplin.

It was an opportunity to thank our Charity Lunch Ladies for their special efforts and ask if they could repeat the format every month (a lead balloon with the ladies, but enthusiastic support from the men).

We have Caroline and Steve to thank for the cleanliness of the kitchen which was also commented on as part of our 5 star rating.
