Lunchtime Recital 6^th October 2023 – Aino Konkka (Mezzo-soprano) and Richard Black (piano)

We were delighted to welcome Aino to sing to us and Richard to accompany her. Aino is Finnish and delights in singing solo-recitals with a decidedly Finnish flavour. She sang a collection of poems set to music by a number of modern composers, and we were glad to have the English translations for the Finnish pieces – so much easier to fit the words to the emotions she showed whilst singing the pieces.

Again – a real pleasure to get up so close.
